The Weekend Habit That Makes Monday Easier (Especially in Perimenopause)
Struggling to reset every Monday? You’re not alone. But there’s a better way.
As a personal trainer and menopause coach for women over 40, I see this all the time: we power through the week with structure and focus, then hit the weekend and everything unravels. Meals go off track, movement disappears and before we know it, Monday feels like a mountain to climb.
If you’re navigating perimenopause, dealing with low energy, brain fog, joint stiffness, or disrupted sleep, this start-stop cycle can make it harder to find consistency and results.
Here’s what changed everything for me (and many of my clients)…
One Simple Habit to Support Your Hormones on the Weekend
The biggest shift came when I stopped treating weekends like a free-for-all and started seeing them as part of my overall health rhythm.
I introduced one simple habit that’s had a massive ripple effect:
👉 Move your body for 10 minutes.
That’s it.
It doesn’t have to be a full workout. It could be:
• A walk around the block
• 10 minutes of stretching
• A quick yoga flow
• Dancing while you tidy the kitchen
Why does this matter in perimenopause?
Movement helps regulate blood sugar, reduce cortisol (stress hormone), boost mood and ease joint stiffness — all key challenges women face during the menopausal transition.
Stack the Benefits with Two More Easy Wins
To make this a powerful trio, I add:
💧 Drink 1L of water before noon
– Hydration supports energy, digestion and brain function, all of which can dip in midlife.
🌤 Get outside for natural light
– Natural sunlight helps regulate circadian rhythm, which improves sleep and mood.
Combined, these three habits give your body what it needs without draining your energy or time.
Why This Works for Women Over 40
During perimenopause, your body craves consistency, not intensity.
By doing something rather than everything, you give your nervous system space to relax while still supporting strength, balance and hormone health.
And the best part?
You’ll walk into Monday already feeling grounded, not like you need to “start over” again.
Ready to Feel More in Control?
If you’re a woman in your 40s or 50s looking for simple, sustainable ways to manage your symptoms, boost strength and feel better in your body — this is your sign to start with small habits.
You don’t need a total life overhaul. You just need the right tools.
