Personal Training That Fits Your Life: Who I Train, Where I Train and How We Can Work Together
Finding the right personal trainer is about more than just exercise. It's about finding someone who understands your goals, supports you through different stages of life and helps you build a fitness routine that works for you.
With 20 years of experience in the fitness industry, I offer personalised training designed around you, your lifestyle and your individual needs. I mainly work with women, helping them build strength, improve their fitness, feel more confident and develop healthy habits that last.
As a mobile personal trainer based in Ingatestone, I offer in-person training in your own home or outdoors, as well as online personal training via video call. I also offer the flexibility to combine in-person and online sessions, so you can choose what works best for you.
Here's a little more about who I work with, where I train and how we can find the right approach for you.
Who Do I Work With?
I mainly train women of different ages, fitness levels and backgrounds. You might be looking to get stronger, improve your fitness, manage your weight, return to exercise after a break or simply make more time for yourself and your wellbeing.
I understand that your body, priorities and goals can change throughout life. That's why I take an individual approach to personal training, rather than following a one-size-fits-all programme.
Alongside my experience as a personal trainer, I am qualified in pre- and postnatal fitness and am a menopause coaching specialist. This allows me to support women through different stages of life, adapting training to their needs, goals and circumstances.
Whether you're a busy professional, a mum juggling family life, a woman navigating menopause or someone who simply wants to feel stronger and healthier, we'll work together to find an approach that feels right for you.
You don't need to be particularly fit or have previous experience of strength training to get started. We'll work from your current level and build your confidence and fitness at a pace that suits you.
Where Do I Offer Personal Training?
I'm based in Ingatestone and offer mobile personal training in the surrounding villages and towns. I can come to you, meaning you don't need to travel to a gym or worry about having fitness equipment at home.
1. Personal Training in Your Own Home
If you prefer to exercise in the comfort and privacy of your own home, I can bring the training to you.
As a mobile personal trainer, I bring my own equipment, so there's no need to have a home gym or buy lots of equipment before we begin. We can make the most of the space you have available and create sessions tailored to your goals and abilities.
Training at home can be particularly convenient if you have a busy schedule, family commitments or simply prefer exercising in a familiar environment.
2. Outdoor Personal Training
Some of my clients prefer to train outdoors rather than inside their homes, and that's an option too.
If you enjoy fresh air and being outside, we can arrange sessions in a suitable local park or outdoor space. It's a lovely way to get moving, enjoy a change of scenery and work towards your fitness goals away from the usual distractions of home.
Outdoor sessions can be adapted to suit your fitness level and preferences, with the equipment I bring where appropriate.
3. Online Personal Training via Video Call
Not based in Ingatestone or the surrounding area? You can still work with me!
I also train clients online through regular video-call sessions, so you can benefit from personalised coaching wherever you're based.
We begin with an initial consultation and assessment via video call. This gives us the opportunity to discuss your goals, exercise experience, current routine, available space and any equipment you already have.
Following our consultation, I'll advise you on any equipment that would be useful for your programme. You don't need to turn a spare room into a gym; we can make sensible choices based on your needs, budget and the space available.
Online personal training offers flexibility and regular support without the need to travel, making it easier to fit exercise around your everyday life.
Personal Training with a Friend or Partner
Would you find it more enjoyable to train with someone else? I also offer sessions for two people at the same time.
You might want to train with a friend, your partner or someone who shares similar fitness goals. Working out together can be a great way to stay motivated, encourage each other and make exercise something you look forward to.
Although you're training together, sessions can still take your individual needs and abilities into account. We'll find a balance that allows you both to work towards your goals while enjoying the experience.
It's also a lovely way to share the commitment to getting stronger, fitter and healthier.
Can't Decide Between In-Person and Online Training? You Can Have Both!
You don't have to choose just one way of working with me. I can also offer a combination of in-person personal training and online video-call sessions.
For example, we could meet for an in-person session and supplement it with online training during the week. Or we could adapt your sessions around work, family commitments, holidays or other changes to your schedule.
This blended approach gives you the benefits of face-to-face coaching alongside the convenience of online support.
We'll discuss your preferences and decide on a structure that helps you stay consistent without making exercise feel like another chore.
How Often Should You Train with a Personal Trainer?
Many of my clients train with me twice a week. For many people, this provides a good balance of regular coaching, progression and time to recover between sessions.
Consistency is an important part of making progress, whether your goal is to build strength, improve fitness, manage your weight or feel more confident in your body.
However, twice a week isn't a rule that everyone has to follow. The right frequency depends on your goals, your schedule, your current activity levels and what feels realistic for you.
Some of my clients also attend Pilates classes at a studio, while others do their own strength training between our sessions. These activities can work really well alongside personal training.
If you're already exercising regularly, we'll take that into account when planning your sessions. If you're starting from scratch, we'll build a routine that feels manageable and gradually develops as your fitness improves.
My aim is to help you find a sustainable approach that fits into your life, rather than expecting you to change your entire lifestyle around exercise.
A Personal Approach to Women's Fitness
With two decades of experience in the fitness industry, I know that everyone's journey is different.
Your goals might change over time, your schedule might become busier, or you might need a different approach as your body changes. That's why I believe personal training should be flexible, supportive and tailored to the individual.
My experience in pre- and postnatal fitness and menopause coaching also means I understand the importance of considering the different stages of a woman's life when planning exercise.
Whether you want to build strength, improve your fitness, return to exercise after having a baby, navigate changes associated with menopause or simply feel better in yourself, we'll work together to find an approach that suits your needs.
You don't have to do everything at once, and you don't have to figure it all out on your own.
Let's Find the Right Personal Training Option for You
Whether you live in Ingatestone or one of the nearby villages and towns, prefer to exercise outdoors, want to train at home or would like the flexibility of online coaching, I'd love to help you find the right fit.
You can train one-to-one, share sessions with a friend or partner, or combine in-person and online training to suit your lifestyle.
You don't need a home gym, lots of equipment or a perfect fitness routine to get started. All you need is a willingness to take that first step.

Real Results, Real People
It's always rewarding to see clients grow stronger, feel fitter and discover what they're capable of achieving. Here's what one of my clients has to say about her experience.“Never Too Late”
“I was introduced to Petra by a friend. Although I had been exercising throughout my life, I needed to build up my core and strength.
Petra has transformed me! I feel fitter, stronger and in the best shape I have ever been.
Coming into my seventh decade, I cannot recommend her training enough. Two 30-minute sessions a week.
I'm an example of it's ‘Never Too Late’!”
